At the very core of SIGAL's success, you will find us... the employees, subcontractors, consultants, project team members, and suppliers, who work together to take each project from being "on the boards" to physical structures and spaces.

We are the SIGAL Team and we embrace SIGAL's model of service forged upon a foundation of five core principles established by SIGAL CEO and Founder, Gerry Sigal. Gerry remains active in our day-to-day operations supporting SIGAL's executive management led by President Gerard Heiber, LEED® AP BD+C, who was involved in our efforts as a founding partner of the USGBC.

The five core principles include: Dedication; Expertise; Insight; Commitment to Excellence; and Environmental Responsibility. Our dedication to and consistent demand for the highest
craftsmanship standards has earned SIGAL many awards and accolades throughout the years, including WBC's highly coveted "Star Award for Visual Excellence." They have also contributed to SIGAL's ability to nurture and maintain long-lasting relationships that are not limited to clients--over a third of the SIGAL Team averages a tenure of 10 years or more, most of whom have been trained and promoted within the ranks of our company.

  • In 2012, SIGAL ranked No. 8 for the Washington Business Journal's Healthiest Employers! In addition to maintaining a tobacco-free environment policy supported by a cessation program, SIGAL was also noted for its subsidization for access to and using a fitness center of our choice.

  • SIGAL's corporate headquarters certainly has its share of past projects on its walls albeit everyone who visits our offices are wowed by the artwork acquired by Gerry and Ellen Sigal. Each piece is wholly unique and definitely the subject of many great after-hours chats... in fact, one piece even has someone's old tie incorporated into its sculpture.

  • Everyone says they work hard and play hard... we do too! In addition to working together on some of Washington's most unique and challenging projects such as the Wilson High School Modernization, we take the time to participate in softball and bowling leagues. No one has to be an expert sportsperson... cheerleaders are always welcome (dogs too)! We even have a few trophies.

  • Above all, we are a family and families come first at SIGAL. We celebrate each other's personal achievements and support one another in times of need and grief. We'll volunteer together and SIGAL has even matched dollar-for-dollar our own donations for disaster relief and recovery aid. We may be a corporation, yet heart and compassion are at the center of how we work together as a team.
