SIGAL Projects Receive Two Excellence in Construction Awards

SIGAL Construction projects receive two Assoicated Builders and Contractors Excellence in Construction Awards.

SIGAL recognizes these awards are part of a collaborative effort, including the subcontractors, architects, consultants, and clients. The award-winning projects for this year are:

• The HSC Foundation, Washington, DC
New 34,000 square-foot office building requiring the preservation and renovation of the exterior walls of two existing brick structures on site: a three-story townhouse along H Street and a two-story carriage house at the back of the property. The seven-story structure includes a partially -underground basement level two-story lobby, a green roof, and tenant fit-out throughout. The project is seeking Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) gold certification.

• 1800 M Street Fitness, Washington, DC
10,000 square-foot fitness center renovation held to an aggressive five month schedule with demolition and renovation in an occupied office building. Work included extensive wood and glass finishes with an MEP systems upgrade and overhaul.
